Cliff Thorburn Named National Head Coach of Cue Sports

The Canadian Billiards and Snooker Association (CBSA) is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Cliff Thorburn as the national head coach of cue sports.

Cliff’s reputation and accomplishments speak for themselves. As a former world professional snooker champion, he has been enshrined into the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame and has been awarded the Order of Canada for his contributions to the sport of snooker.

Cliff’s mandate as Canada’s head coach will be to grow the sport through education and to broaden the demographic awareness of cue sports on a national scale. He will work closely with the CBSA to set up coaching programs in all the major centres from coast to coast. Currently, the CBSA has affiliations in Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto, Kitchener/Waterloo, Ottawa, Fredericton, Saint John, Moncton, Halifax and Sydney to name just a few cities.

The CBSA is nationally recognized as the governing body of cue sports in Canada and is sanctioned under the auspices of the World Snooker Association.
